Coatzacoalcos

Coatzacoalcos was founded in 1522 by Hernando Cortés under the name Espírtu Santo; it was until Oct. 1825 when, by decree the town adopts the name of Coatzacoalcos and becoming a municipality in 1881. In 1900 the name is changed to Puerto Mexico to change again in 1936. coatzacoalcos is a city and port located to the South of Mexico in the flow of the same-named river (Veracruz). Industries: mining, petrochemistry; services, etc.

In 1900 the city's name is changed to Puerto México to recover the former name in 1936. Durign this time, Puerto México had a registration flag with a blue Saltire on white.
