Levanto is in La Spezia Province, Liguria.
Translated from <www.comune.levanto.sp.it>:
"It has the official flag of white-blue color in a rectangular shape, the inferior side equal in length to  2/3 the length of the side (a 2:3 banner), consistent to the attached copy "B"; the field is white, 1/3 the size of the blue, and contiguous to the flag pole (hoist). In the official ceremonies, the gonfalon with the coat of arms is accompanied by the Mayor, who wears a wrapped tricolor and is escorted by municipal policeman in high uniform."

I look at the flag of the town where I am from: Levanto (Liguria, Italy) and I noticed that it is wrong. The flag you have is not the original flag of Levanto but the one used for special events just to make the town look a little bit nicier. Here is the right flag of Levanto. The upper part remembers the appartenence to the sea republic of Genoa, the blue part is representing the sea, and the yellow part with the red cross symbolizes the old crucifix from a Spanish ship that was found on the beach of Levanto many centuries ago and that is still very important for the religious life of the town.
