Description of the flag
On a documentary on telephones in Africa the flag of PATU, the Panafrican Telephone Union, was shown. The
flag was hoisted on the HQ building and in a room, probably a conference room, adorned with all
the members countries flags, the ITU flag and the PATU flag.
The PATU flag is based on OAU flag and is very similar to it,
horizontally divided into green-yellow-white-yellow-green stripes in
ratio approximately 2:1:3:1:2. In the white stripe is the emblem, a circle with the (probably) name of the
organization inscribed along
upper half, the lower edge containing a red ribbon and some corn, in the
middle is yellow map of Africa over which is red lightning bolt,
similar to that one used as the ITU symbol
