Description

Situated on the border between the Carmel and Sharon regions, about 40 kms south to haifa, Local Council Benyamina (named after Baron Benjamin (Edmond) Rothschild, the most famous of the Rothschilds) was founded in 1922 and has 5,000 inh.

In my visit of 4 September 2001, no flag was hoisted in the Local Council. I was told that in case of need (which means on independence day), they use the emblem on a monochrome background. I drew it on white but it could be also on other backgrounds. The municipal emblem has not been published in the official gazette (Rashumot) and is thus unofficial.
