Tápszentmiklós is a village in Győr-Moson-Sopron County in
Hungary near to City of Győr (31 km south) in the Little
Hungarian Plains. The settlement has got 947 inhabitants (1990
census), all of them are Hungarians. Neighbouring settlements
are: Táp, Győrasszonyfa, Lázi, Sikátor, Bakonybánk and
Bársonyos villages. The territory of the village is inhabited
from the Stone Age. The first Hungarian settlement /Ylmár/ was
devasteted by the Mongols in 1242. The first mention of the
nowadays village is from 1370 (Zent Miklos). Szentmiklós means
St Nicholaus. All settlers were serf. In 1910 Tápszentmiklós
was a village in the Pusztai district of Győr County. Number of
inhabitants in 1910: 1.185; 1.184 (99,9%) Hungarian and 1 (0,1%)
others by mother tongue, 703 (59,3%) Calvinist, 439 (37,0%) Roman
Catholic, 22 (1,9%) Jew and 21 (1,9%) other by religion.
1920-1946 in Győr-Moson-Pozsony County, 1946-1949 in Győr-Moson
County, 1950-now in Győr-Sopron (from 1992 Győr-Moson-Sopron)
County. Between 1969-1989 the village was part of the Táp
Collective Community Soviet.

village and the patron saint of the village and other 15 villages
in Hungary. The light blue, which rules the top third of the
