According to a paper in 'Franciae Vexilla', a rank ensign for the Chief of Staff of the Army was planned in Haiti in the 50's. The source litterally says 'was planned', probably assuming that the ensign was not really in use.
In the book 'Flottes de Combats' (1950, p. 256), the ensign is shown as a red flag with three white stars placed in a triangle shifted to the upper hoist.
In the 1954 edition of 'Flottes de Combat' (p. 231), the flag is still red but there is only a large star in the middle of it.
