For a small community of some 4,400 inhabitants (1993) some 30
km east of Varadin, about 3 km due north of Ludbreg, Sveti
Šurd (Sv. Djurdj) one may almost guess the symbols. The county
web site <http://www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr>
does not show the CoA nor the flag, but the statutes in the
official gazette available at <www.glasila.hr>
describes them: Statut Opcine Sveti Šurd, 5.10.2001,
Slubeni vjesnik Varadniske upanije, br. 20/01.
The coat of arms showes the saint parton, St. George on a horse
slaying the dragon. The flag is light blue with the coat of arms
in the middle.
