The amateur footballers of RUFC Calais will play tomorrow evening
in Stade de France the final of the French Cup against
FC Nantes-Atlantique. I have just
seen a short TV-program about it and the city hall of Calais was
shown with an horizontally divided yellow-black-yellow-red-yellow
flag. This is probably the flag of the fottball club or of its
supporters.
The shirts of the players are usually vertically stripes yellow and
red (or better "blood and gold", similarly to their glorious
neighbours of RC Lens) or green and yellow (ironically the colours of
FC Nantes)

I heard on French TV that the colours of the flag of RUFC Calais (red, yellow, black) are the unions of the colours of the two clubs that merged I don't know when into the nowadays team. One club has red and yellow, the other one yellow and black.

Calais finally lost the final in spite of having reached the half-time with one goal ahead. The amateur players could then not resist the pressure exerted by FC Nantes-Atlantique, which scored soon after the onset of the second half-time and was granted a successful penalty at the 90th minute. The final was really a hypermediatic event, attracting nearly as many journalists and politicians as did the final of the 98' World Cup! I have heard that the Washington Post even dedicated a paper to the team.
