The Flag Research Institute (formerly Hungarian Vexillological
Association) in Hungary established a Flag Museum in Budapest, the
Capital of Hungary.
This museum is ENTIRELY DEVOTED TO THE FLAGS!
(opened 20-OCT-1995; editor)
This Museum is maintained by the Flag Research Institute. Its aim is
to present flags and different national, state, political symbols
related to the flags.
If anybody is going to Budapest, she/he is warmly welcomed in our
Museum!
If anybody would like to present her/his flag collection, the museum offers
free place for exhibit it. They plan to change the exhibitions in
every 3 or 6 months - for example to introduce Hungary largest
sport-flag collection.
The theme and other rights concerning these flag exhibitions depend
on FRI. So there is no any restriction. All new idea is welcomed as

The National Flag Foundation maintains and is headquartered at "Flag
Plaza" in Pittsburgh, PA in the United States. This facility is dedicated to
the history of United States flags. There are a number of special exhibits,
such as a U.S. flag in which each of the stars was cut out by the governor of
the respective state of the Union.
Each day they have a flag raising ceremony conducted by Boy Scouts.
There are also some other patriotic exhibits and a special film presentation
entitled "You Are the Flag."
In San Antonio, Texas, The University of Texas Institute of Texan
Cultures has displays of various ethnic flags of the various groups which
settled in Texas. Outside the Institute building is a display of
approximately 30 flags representing each of the ethnic groups. Inside the
museum is a special display of reproductions of historic Texas flags made by
a class of high school students under the supervision of Lawrence Williams.
Mr. Williams has probably done more research on historic Texas flags than
anyone else.

There are NO museums devoted soley to flags in South Africa at
present. However, SAVA is trying to establish a "flag section" in
the National Cultural History Museum, but things are moving slowly!
