Description

Not all the Spanish provinces have oficial flags. 30 provinces have oficial flags and some others unoficial. A little group don't have flags. Almería is in Eastern Andalucia. In the X century the marchant "republic" of Pechina was very important. In the 60s the province was the scenary of many westerns (movies) and spaghetti westerns. Currently some towns in the province have the highest "rent per capita" of Spain (at same level - or higher - of Catalonia and Balearic Islands) due to intensive agriculture. It is divided in 8 districts and 103 Municipalities. The shield was aproved on 29 July 1959. The flag (with the successive shields) flows since the 19 century.

Town of Garrucha

From this webpage [including an image of the flag]:

Summarized translation: the flag was adopted by the Town Council on 22nd December 1988 and by the Andalusian Autonomous Goverment on 14th October 1989 (Official Bulletin of 24th November). The flag is horizontally light blue and dark blue. Garrucha, a municipality since 1861, was a small seaside fishermen village, whose horizon apparently joined the sky and the sea, hence light and dark blue. These colours also appear on the municipal coat-of-arms, since the field of the first quarter is Azure i.e. blue. Finally, the flag is also inspired in the coat-of-arms' motto, 'EX MARI ORTA' (born from the sea).
