Adopted: 14 Febuary 1994. Maidla is a rural municipality (vald) in Ida Virumaa County (Maakond).

Maidla vald Coat of arms is based on the coat of arms of Maydell family from the 14. Century. Maidel is old local Estonian word to one freshwater fish. Blue line with fishes refers also to Purtse river in the middle of municipality.
