Description

Querfurt with slightly under 10,000 inhabitants is part of Merseburg-Querfurt county. The flag, introduced in 1990, is a red-white banner with the arms. The arms show Mary with the child. This arms was also used in the communist era as they are shown in Bensing et al. 1984 (see also Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website). Source: Günther 1996b.
