Pí¹» municipality flag

Number of inhabitants by 31.12. 2000: 2107. The first written trace dated back to 1228. The village was founded by the Monastery of Velehrad. The original name was Pieshc. About 1617 Bernart Lichnovský from Vo¹tice bought the village from the Manor of Hluèín. In 1909 the village was given a new name: Pyscht. In 1910 the village was renamed again: Sandau. On 14 March 1923 Pí¹» was incorporated into the newly established republic - Czechoslovakia. In 1938 the village was occupied by the German Army. On 20 April 1945 Pí¹» was liberated.
