Flaggenbuch [gfb39] shows under
'Kuba' the following flags:
- Standard of the State President. (see: 'Former Presidential flag').
- National flag, also used as war
and civil ensign.
- Naval Jack, similar to jack
currently in use.
- Flag of the 4 September 1939.
- Ensign of the State Secretary for War and Navy. Similar to the
flag attributed to 'Secretary of Navy', but
without star. Considering a flag height of 24, the height of the
anchor is 12, the outer blue border has a width of 2 and the
white inner border a width of 1.
- Ensign of the Chief of Naval Staff. Similar to the preceding
one but forked, so that the main field (excluding the forked
part) is a square, and without the white inner border.
- Ensign of the Chief of a Naval District.
Similar to the ensign currently in use.
- The five triangular ensigns currently in use, with the same
allocations.
- Masthead pennant, similar to the one currently in use.
- Ensign of the Observation and Guidance
Vessels.
- Ensign for Doctor on Duty.
- Quarantine flag, slightly different from Quarantine
Flag sent by Zeljko: the anchor and cross are blue, the star
white, and theemblem is skewed to the fly.
- Pilot Flag: white P on a black
field.

Secretary of the Navy (l don't know if secretary is the
equivalent to Minister or Vice-minister), blue with white lines
near border and anchor with star.
Jaume Olle', 2 July 1997
Album 2000 [pay00] shows Minister of Defence - Blue flag with
white orle and white anchor in the middle. Similar flag was
reported by Jaume for Secretary of the Navy with addition of a
white star over the anchor. When was this used and in what
relation to Minister of Defence?......
Zeljko Heimer, 3 june 2001
Blue with white anchor,
Jaume Olle', 2 July 1997
Also Jaume reported a blue flag with anchor for the Chief of
the Navy, not found in Album [pay00]
either. [geo17] gives this flag of
the Secretary of Navy, though. Both those images are set to 3:4
ratio though in the sources they are not so.)
Zeljko Heimer, 3 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Chief of Naval Staff (3:4) - Blue flag with white orle and four
white stars one in each corner of the orle. Maybe a better
tranlsation of the title would be Chief of the General Staff of
the Navy.
Zeljko Heimer, 3 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] - Rear
Admiral (3:4) - Blue flag with two white stars vertically set.
Zeljko Heimer, 3 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Commodore (3:4) - Blue flag with one white star in the middle.
Zeljko Heimer, 3 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Chief of a Naval District (3:4) - White swallow tailed
rectangular penannt with red edges along top and bottom and a red
anchor off-cenetered to hoist. The indentation on fly side apears
to be 1/4 of the hoist, the vertical axis of the anchos is more
or less on 1/3 of length from hoist, while the red borders are
about 1/7 of hoist each.
Zeljko Heimer, 6 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Division Commander: Lt Cdr or above (2:3) - Blue triangular
pennant with white anchor near hoist. The [geo17] showes this same flag
captioned "Cuba Captain of Fleet" under figure 473.
Probably with increase of the fleet this flag was transfered for
lower level commanders today.
Zeljko Heimer, 6 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Second-in-command: Lt Cdr or above (2:3) - Red triangular pennant
with white anchor near hoist.
Zeljko Heimer, 6 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Division Commander: Lt or below (2:3) - White triangular pennant
with blue border along outer edges. The blue border does not
seems to be of equal width allong the whole pennant, weather this
is intentional or not (I mean, weather this is error in Album or
not) the difference is quite visible, as could be seen on my
image, too. The height of each of the blue edges along hoist is
1/6 of the hoist (i.e. totaling in 1/3). The distance from the
fly end of the white trangle to the fly end of the pennant is
also 1/3 of hoist.
Zeljko Heimer, 6 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Second-in-Command: Lt or below (2:3) - White triangular pennant
with red border along outer edges. Same pattern as previous flag
.
Zeljko Heimer, 6 june 2001
From Album 2000 [pay00] -
Senior Officer Afloat (2:3) - Blue triangular pennant.
