From the Kapuskasing web site (http://www.town.kapuskasing.on.ca/facts/flag-e.html):

The Kapuskasing flag consists of three vertical panels; the two outside being in green and the central panel in white.

In the upper half of the left panel there is superimposed a red maple leaf similar in colour and characteristics to that of the flag of Canada. In the lower half of the right panel there is superimposed a white trillium as used on the flag and coat-of-arms of Ontario. In the centre of the central panel the Kapuskasing symbol, as designed by Lachlan MacLachlan, is superimposed in the colours red, black, green and gold.

Predominating the symbol are the two large stacks representing our local primary industry. Interlocked with one of the stacks is the letter "K", signifying the inter-dependence of the community and industry. An intersecting south to north tangent encompasses the community as part of the northward progress in which Kapuskasing is playing a significant role. Finally, the green circle surround the community, industry and immediate area represents the greenbelt forest to which the community and industry attribute their existence
