Merelbeke (21,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Ghent.

The flag is: Or, scalloped Gules, a lion rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules. Proportions are 2:3.

The flag was adopted on 26 March 1990 and readopted 11 June 1991.
