Description of the flag

Aalten (17,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Ghent.

The flag is: Quartered, I and III Gules, a cross anchored Argent, II and IV Or, a lion passant Sable, armed and tongued Gules. Proportions are 2:3.

The flag was adopted on 7 May 1985.
