Description of the flag

Kraainem (13,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Halle-Vilvoorde.

The flag is: Party per pale, Azure and Or, in the canton a pot Or. Proportions are 2:3. The pot of gold is from the arms of the Kieffelt family, Lords of Kraainem from 1624 until the 18th century. The village was known in 1003 as Crainham - enclosed land.

The flag was adopted on 3 December 1981.
