Herent (18,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Leuven.

The flag is: Quartered, I the Holy Virgin holding the child Jesus, Or, holding a fleur-de-lys Or, II Sable, a turned lion rampant Or, tongued and armed Gules, with a letter "W" Or, III Sable, a turned lion rampant Or, tongued and armed Gules, IV Argent, a chief indented Azure, with three fleur-de-lys Or. Proportions are 2:3.

The flag was adopted on 1 July 1986.
