This site http://www.ecn.net.au/~dthomas/nq/nq1.htm is [was - the site is no longer accessible -ed] pushing the cause for a separate state to be created out of North Queensland and includes a flag proposal. The flag has been adopted as a proposal by the North Queensland Party, whom apart from what I've found on this site I know nothing about. I don't know what status the party or the separatist movement currently has, but there hasn't been anything about the issue in the Brisbane media in recent years.
